Meeting: Extracellular Vesicles: friends and foes II

Location (in-person meeting): Weizmann Institute of Science, Rehovot, Israel
Dates: 19th-22th of March 2023

Abstract submission deadline: 19th of January 2023
Registration deadline: 28th of February 2023

The “Extracellular vesicles: friends and foes” meeting aims to bring together worldwide investigators from different disciplines and areas of interest to present their newest findings concerning the biogenesis of extracellular vesicles, and how these dock onto target cells, release their cargo and exert their function in physiological and pathological conditions. This meeting will thus be a great opportunity for scientists from diverse backgrounds to learn about cutting-edge vesicle science and form new collaborations.

Specifically, the meeting will focus on: Extracellular Vesicle Cargo and Biogenesis, Cell-Cell Communication via Vesicles, Extracellular Vesicles in Diseases, Biotechnology and Novel Approaches in Extracellular Vesicle Research.

SiN-EV meeting 2022

This year’s SiN-EV meeting: “Extracellular vesicles: From fundamental research to clinical application” took place on the 20th of June 2022. It was attended by approximately 70 researchers and clinicians from 23 institutions in Slovenia and all neighbouring countries. The lectures were presented by two distinguished international lecturers, Edit Buzás and Wolfgang Holnthoner, and 10 local presenters. Interesting lectures also enabled a lively discussion.

The Book of abstracts is available at https://sin-ev.org/events-2/.

SiN-EV meeting: “Extracellular vesicles: From fundamental research to clinical application”

Date: Monday, 20. 6. 2022, 09.00-15.20
Location: University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Medicine, Korytkova 2, Ljubljana

At this year’s meeting, two distinguished lecturers, Edit Buzás and Wolfgang Holnthoner, will present their research in the field of extracellular vesicles in the plenary session. Then we will hear from local researchers and clinicians about fundamental discoveries and methodology for EV isolation and characterisation (session 1) and about the role of extracellular vesicles in human disease (session 2). The stimulating atmosphere will hopefully promote new collaborations and research findings.

You can register for the meeting here: https://forms.gle/iJZiZNcpQ7mMj6C49. Registration is open until June 15th 2022.

Save the date: SiN-EV meeting: “Extracellular vesicles: From fundamental research to clinical application”

SiN-EV annual meeting will be held in person in Ljubljana on Monday, June 20th 2022.

Two distinguished lecturers already confirmed their attendance:
– Prof. Edit Buzás (Semmelweis University, Hungary), one of the leading researchers in the EV field and the presumed president of the International Society for EVs, ISEV, and the president of the Hungarian Society for EVs
Wolfgang Holnthoner (Ludwig Boltzmann Institute for Traumatology; Austria), president of the Austrian Society for EVs, ASEV

There will also be ample opportunities for members of SiN-EV to present their research.

MOVE European Mobility Fellowships

SiN-EV has joined the European initiative MOVE (MObility for Vesicles research in Europe), established to foster collaboration between the members of different European EV Societies and Networks. The current project of the initiative is MOVE European Mobility Fellowship, which enables short-term (1-3 months) visits of early-stage scientists – technicians, doctoral students, and young postdoctoral students – involved in the research of extracellular vesicles to other European laboratories.

More information about laboratories involved in the initiative and application process can be found at: https://www.ukev.org.uk/move-mobility-ev-europe/.
