Center for Electron Microscopy was established in 1967 and since then it provides services in basic and applicative fields of microscopy in biomedical sciences as well as provides courses in basic and advanced microscopy methods. Institute of Cell Biology is the chair of the Biomedical Center for Microscopy (BMCM), which is an infrastructural center for microscopy at the University of Ljubljana and also the chair of Eurobioimaging consortium for Slovenia.
