EV-related research interests:
Our research focuses on EVs from Gram-positive bacteria, particularly Lactococcus cremoris. We investigate EV biogenesis, cargo composition, and the effects of recombinant protein expression on EV formation. A key objective is to develop engineered bacterial EVs as safe and scalable platforms for the delivery of therapeutic proteins and other bioactive molecules. We combine bacterial genetic engineering with advanced EV characterization to better understand bacterial EV biology and explore their potential applications in biotechnology and biomedicine.
Key research methods / expertise:
Genetic engineering of Lactococcus cremoris, recombinant protein expression and protein engineering, EV isolation and purification (ultracentrifugation, TFF, SEC), flow cytometry analysis of bacterial EVs
